Kinlet Hall
1929 GWR Steam Locomotive
Kinlet Hall, No 4936 was built in June 1929 at Swindon Works and first allocated to Chester. This gorgeous steam locomotive could be seen in various areas such as Cardiff, Oxford, Shrewsbury, Swindon amongst others back in the day. In 1964 Kinlet Hall was withdrawn from service with British Railways after completing more than 1million miles and sold for scrap. To find out what happened next we will soon be writing a blog post about Kinlet’s history. To cut the story short, we purchased Kinlet Hall in 2016 and have committed to giving her the full mainline overhaul she deserves. We can’t wait for you to experience this magical piece of history on the tracks.
