Steam engine experiences to blow your mind
Whether you are a vintage steam fanatic, a lover of the romance and nostalgia of steam or are just looking for something really cool and memorable for everyone to enjoy on your wedding day, our steam engine experiences will certainly blow your mind.
Static Steam Displays
Nobody can deny the romance of a steam and for the first time ever we are offering static steam available for hire at your wedding or event. Fall in love with the sights and sounds of a steam traction engine such as ‘Sonsie Quine’ and ‘Gigantic’ or ‘Elizabeth’ our Sentinel Steam Bus.
So what exactly do you experience:
Steam displays: Stand back in awe as we fire our steam engine in front of you and your guests
Atmospheric photo opportunities: Pose for photographs surrounded by steam – making amazing wedding photographs if steam is your passion
The main attraction: Let our steam traction engines be the main attraction at your event, like your very own steam rally
Nostalgia: It isn’t everyday you get to see the magic of our heritage steam in action. Being able to share this experience with your guests is something very special and memorable indeed
Private Steam Railway Charters
If you are looking to charter your own steam train for a private excursion then we can help.
Together with our involvement with the West Somerset Railway and our own steam locomotives we can help you organise a railway excursion for you and your guests to remember.
Kinlet Hall Steam Locomotive
Our locomotive Kinlet Hall is part way through an extensive overhaul. She will return to steam in 2020 with a fresh mainline ticket and will be available to haul charter trains on Network Rail metals. She will continue to hold all the relevant certifications, including OTMR. Kinlet Hall has always been a popular engine both with crews and passengers, having a proven positive track record.
We have our own fully equipped support coach, which is also certificated to run on the mainline. When in operation on the mainline we have our own fully trained support crew on board to attend to the loco’s needs.
A locomotive like Kinlet Hall, originally designed as a mixed traffic locomotive, is very popular at Galas and special events. 4936 is available to attend such events from time to time and, having a mainline ticket, can arrive under her own steam by rail if your railway has a mainline connection.
